The city has over 2,000 acres of parks and 4 museums for public touring.  If you’re looking for something to do in Athens, check out their indoor rock climbing wall, go kayaking or take one of the six self-guided tours.  Their food tour features exclusive creations from local restaurant owners and chefs.   For family fun, Athens is home to Georgia’s largest playground; which is over two acres of parks, jungle gyms, and gardens.

If you are visiting Athens, there are a variety of annual festivals and events throughout the year.  If you are visiting in February, be sure to check out “A Taste of Athens”, a food festival where you can try many of the cuisines from local restaurants and participate in silent auctions. In April, Athens has their “Classic City Brew-Fest”, an indoor beer festival with over 200 different hand-crafted beers. Or, in June, you can visit the “AthFest: The Athens, GA Music and Arts Festival” with over 150 local and regional bands.
